Walking Backward

Below you will find a series of emails sent to family and friends over the course of our first two years in The NL.  Many of you who read my blog probably received the emails to begin with.  In which case…feel free to ignore the ‘Back Issue” posts.  However, there are a handful of you who are relatively new to Cathleen’s world, and might get a kick out of some of the anecdotes.

Reviewing them in preparation for posting them, I see a million ways that they could be better.  (Shorter, less prolific use of emoticons, etc…)  But they are what they are, and I don’t see much sense in investing my time and energy trying to make them something that they weren’t.  It’s kind of like my 19 year old self.  I look back and and think of a thousand things I could have/should have done differently.  But then I wouldn’t have learned or developed into the person I am today.   Writing, like life, is a process.  And I’m always refining the process.

Please, in the name of all that is Holy…DO NOT ATTEMPT TO READ THEM ALL IN ONE SITTING.  Overdose is not only possible, but probably.  And I’d never see you again.  And I’d miss you.

Start at the bottom and work your way to the top.  I’ve been told I’m less confusing that way.

  1. I am now all caught up — and you have my current email so I won’t be left off of any updates from where you are.

I now would love to see photos. You need to post lots of them.
